We are a theatre production company based in the Lake District specialising in high-quality pantomimes and touring productions, delivering vibrant, engaging performances for audiences of all ages. With a deep love for live theatre and a strong appreciation for the traditions of pantomime, we combine classic storytelling with fresh energy, humour, and creativity in every show we produce.
Each Christmas season, we proudly stage a range of full-scale pantomime productions across the UK, with established shows in Bolton, Arbroath, Romiley, Aberdeen, and Barrow. These productions have become a highlight of the festive calendar for many local audiences, offering a magical theatre experience filled with laughter, music, and audience participation.
Beyond the festive season, Charming Entertainment is on the road throughout the year. We tour extensively across the UK during Easter, summer, and October, bringing high-quality live theatre to a wide range of venues. Our touring productions are designed to be accessible, adaptable, entertaining, and memorable, ensuring that great theatre can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Meet the Team
Joseph Purdy
Managing Director
Joe has been producing pantomimes and family theatre tours all over the UK since 2017. He designs all the sets for all of charming entertainments shows and works closely with designers to manage all costumes and mascots too. Joe founded the biggest drag adult panto that tours over 35 theatres each year and has worked with some of the worlds biggest drag stars. Joe is entirely an entirely self taught producer with no training and has worked his way up in the industry over the last 10 years, initially starting out helping backstage the local professional pantomime in his hometown 10 years ago that he now produces himself in its entirety.
Carl Marsden
Executive Producer
Carl has worked extensively in the Theatre industry for over 15 years.
Having spent over 10 years working for The Ambassador Theatre Group in Management positions at The Manchester Opera House, The Palace Theatre and The Liverpool Empire he now leads the business operation at Charming Entertainment Ltd.

Technical Manager
With over 16 years of bringing shows to life through Lighting, Sound & Special FX , I’m the Technical Manager who loves turning creative chaos into smooth, spectacular productions. From dazzling live music gigs to high-energy theatre and everything in between, I design and operate the tech that makes each show shine—and I enjoy every second of it.
I’m all about creating unforgettable moments: lighting that hits just right, sound that pulls you in, and cues that land with precision. No two shows are ever the same, and that’s exactly what keeps me hooked. Whether I’m crafting the perfect atmosphere or troubleshooting on the fly, I thrive on the excitement, challenge, and magic of live entertainment.
